The Fort Worth Independent School District is hoping more of its employees will take the incentive to retire or resign.
The district needs about 700 teachers and other professionals to take the offer in order to minimize layoffs.
So far, only about 400 people have taken the district up on their offer.
The deadline for teachers to receive the full incentive was March 1, but teachers can still receive a smaller bonus if they agree to retire by March 21.
