Fort Worth Expected to Pay $210,000 to Man Shot by Officer in 2015

The Fort Worth City Council is expected to approve a settlement in the 2015 police shooting of a man who was carrying a barbecue fork, according to the council's agenda.

The $210,000 settlement will be paid to Craigory Adams and his attorney pending its approval at the council's regular meeting Tuesday. Adams was shot in the arm June 23, 2015, by Fort Worth police officer Courtney Johnson, who said the shooting was accidental.

He was accused of recklessly handling his shotgun and shooting Adams. Johnson said he thought Adams was holding a knife, but he was holding a barbecue fork.
