Fort Worth City Council Adopts New Rules for Public Speakers

There will be new rules for members of the public who want to speak at future Fort Worth City Council meetings.

Council members voted Tuesday to require speakers to register before they'll be given the floor and they've alloted each speaker only three minutes. Group presentations can be longer, but each member of the group must be present.

The mayor can further reduce the speaker's available time depending on the council's agenda.

The new rules will go into effect Nov. 30.

A complete list of changes can be read in the council's memo below.
