17 Homeless After Fort Worth Apartment Fire

A late-night two-alarm apartment fire has left 17 people without a home Thursday.

A fire began late Wednesday night at the Horizon Sunridge apartments in Fort Worth.

Fire crews were able to contain the fire to a single building, though the fire still damaged eight units in the building and displaced 17 people, including six children.

The Red Cross is helping the residents recover after the event.

No one was seriously hurt, but one person had to be treated by paramedics for what firefighters described as a "medical condition."

Firefighters did not have a damage estimate. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
