Authorities say a person has been arrested in the shooting of a former San Antonio police officer accused of raping a woman in his patrol car in 2013.
The Bexar County Sheriff's Office said Jackie Len Neal was taken to a hospital, where he was listed in stable condition Thursday night.
Deputies were called to a home and found Neal suffering from a gunshot wound to the neck.
They arrested his girlfriend on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Authorities believe the suspect shot Neal during an argument at the residence.
Neal is charged with sexual assault after a woman said she was raped during a traffic stop. A message seeking comment was left with his attorney early Friday.
