Denton police may not quite be atwitter, but they are hip to Facebook.
The police department launched its official Facebook page this week.
Last week, Denton police asked a University of North Texas student to remove the department's logo from an unofficial Twitter page he was running.
Denton police said its Facebook page will be used to send the department's online friends alerts and ask for tips on certain crimes. The department is listed as "Denton Pd."
Just don't ask for tweets.
