Flower Mound's Wall of Positivity Encourages Kindness

A week after the election, students at Flower Mound High School are tired of the negativity on social media, they've decided to spread kindness.

On Monday, discussion about the "Wall of Positivity" turned into action. The wall is located in the main hallway of Flower Mound High School.

"The sign says, 'Wall of Positivity. Write something nice. Take what You need.' It just started out with some construction paper and whole lot of sticky notes," said Flower Mound senior Matthew Webb. "If you write something and you want to write something nice to somebody, you can feel free to look at the notes and take one that applies to you."

Assistant Principal Mica Wood said it's a lesson beyond the classroom.

"I think it teaches us that we are not just here to get an education," said Wood. "I feel like our students think we're constantly telling them what not to do. This is encouraging them what they can do and what they should do, which is build positive rapport with their peers."
