A strong line of thunderstorms stretching from Brownwood northeast to Tulsa, Oklahoma, began pushing east-northeast through the Metroplex shortly before 3 p.m. Monday.

In many locations around North Texas the storm dropped more than an inch of rain along with hail as large as golf balls.

Oncor reported a peak outage of more than 56,000 customers Monday; that number had been cut to fewer than 2,000 by Tuesday morning.

The weather also delayed and/or canceled hundreds of flights at North Texas' two major airports Monday.  A normal flight schedule was expected to resume Tuesday morning.

Elsewhere in the state, street flooding has been reported in Houston and San Antonio where storms left thousands without electricity.
