Fixer Upper Stars Make Pit Stop at Texas Motor Speedway

You'd think Chip and Joanna Gaines would have a little more free time on their hands these days.

The beloved Waco couple recently finished filming the final season of their hit HGTV series "Fixer Upper". But they're staying busy as ever.

Early Sunday morning, they helped launch their new "Hearth & Hand with Magnolia" line of household items in Target stores across the country.

Then, it was off to Texas Motor Speedway, where Chip got to serve as honorary pace car driver for the AAA Texas 500.

"What an honor," said Chip. "I grew up literally right down the street and watched this place be built in the 90's. To be out here today is a total rush. I joke with all my high school buddies that I'm finally getting to drive the speed I always hoped to drive without the negative ramifications."

Chip admits it took him a little while to get going, only hitting 45 miles per hour on the first lap.

"Did you see us smoke you?" Joanna asked her husband with a grin as she climbed out of her pace car. "You were driving like a grandma!"

The final season of Fixer Upper premieres November 21.
