First North Texas Buc-ee's Location Opens Monday

Those traveling on Interstate 20 in Kaufman County should be able to see the new Buc-ee's, which opened at 6 a.m. Monday in Terrell.

The ribbon cutting was held at 8 a.m., officially opening a 61,000-square-foot retail store with 84 gas pumps.

"You look at it and it looks like a lot of pumps," Buc-ee's General Manager Josh Smith said. "But in reality, we can have more."

Smith said they are excited about being in North Texas and are ready to offer customers an outstanding experience when they come by.

"From the time someone walks in, to the time somebody leaves they will be talked to through their whole experience," said Smith. "We are going to greet them when they walk in and thank them when they leave."

Along with gas, Buc-ee's has a wide selection of gifts and food items. Customers told NBC 5 they like what they see.

"We have been anticipating the grand opening for a while," said customer Jeff Jacobs. "I stopped by one in Madisonville a month ago, and it's an awesome store."

Terrell city leaders said the new location โ€” the first in North Texas โ€” will be a boon for the economy, and hope everyone will come out to see what the store has to offer.

"I look forward to [coming back]," Jacobs said. "I pass by it every morning. This is my new coffee stop."
