Fireworks Light Up Dallas Skyline Monday Night

A crowd of thousands gathered for a big fireworks show Monday evening along the banks of the Trinity River near downtown Dallas to kick start the celebrations for Independence Day.

The city of Dallas teamed up with KLUV Radio for the second year to sponsor the event, and the Texas company that produced the fireworks show for "Red, White and Boom on the Bridge" promised it would live up to the name.

Watch as hundreds of fireworks light up the Dallas skyline for the "Red, White and Boom on the Bridge" event near the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge, Monday, July 3, 2017.

"Our show actually has over 2,300 shells. It's a 15-minute show and we have four trailers full of product," said Paige Mejia, with Pyrotex, Inc.

The west side of the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge was closed to traffic so people could watch the fireworks from there, along with the Ron Kirk Pedestrian Bridge next to it.
