The fire started at about 2:45 p.m. Friday in the 9700 block of Whitehurst Drive.

Due to the heat, it took longer than usual to fight the fire, officials said.

Although the fire is under control, firefighters will remain at the scene for a while to make sure flames don't reignite.

Dallas Fire-Rescue Lt. Jason Evans said the building housed six condos, all of which are now uninhabitable.

There are no reports of injuries. However, a bystander was taken to a hospital after experiencing a "medical emergency" unrelated to the fire, according to Evans.

The cause of the blaze is unknown at this time, but a preliminary investigation states it was likely accidental.
