Fire Engulfs Vacant Dallas Apartment Building

Firefighters worked to extinguish a three-alarm fire at a vacant apartment building in Dallas Tuesday night.

The fire was reported in the 5000 block of Bryan Street, just outside of downtown Dallas at about 7 p.m.

The Dallas Fire Department says one of its investigators was leaving from another fire when he spotted spoke coming from the first floor of the building as he was driving by.

When firefighters arrived, the fire spread to the attic.

A third alarm was issued as approximately 60 - 70 firefighters continued to battle the blaze.

Since the building was vacant, there were no injuries or displaced residents, according to the Dallas FD.

Eight units sustained significant fire damage.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
