Firefighters from multiple fire departments worked to extinguish a fire at a Forest Hill bar Monday morning, authorities said.
Crews with the Forest Hill and Fort Worth fire departments responded to the Roadhouse in the 5300 block of Mansfield Highway shortly after 5 a.m. Authorities said the bar had been vacant for about three months.
Fort Worth Fire Department spokesman Lt. Kyle Falkner said firefighters battled for several hours to put out the fire.
"In older building like this, they will sometimes have multiple layers of celing," he said. "I know that is some of the difficulty they are having today gaining access to where the fire is."
