Before they compete for a national championship, college football players won the hearts and respect of dozens of North Texas families Thursday.
Players from North Dakota State and Jacksonville State, who face off Saturday in Frisco for the Football Championship Subdivision national title, participated in a flag football game with 24 athletes with special needs from the Miracle League of Frisco.
The college players guided and helped coach the young athletes, and everyone was a winner.
"It's a great day," said Brian Hinton, father of two young boys playing in the game. "We've been out here several years in a row with the Frisco Miracle League. It's immeasurable what it means to the players."
