Ex-San Antonio Police Officer Sentenced to Prison

A former San Antonio police officer has been sentenced to 18 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to telling a person he would hold off filing drug charges in exchange for money.

Prosecutors say 37-year-old Curtis W. Lundy was sentenced Monday. He had pleaded guilty in October 2013 to theft of honest services by wire fraud. He was also given two years of supervised release.

Court records show that Lundy responded to a call in 2012 about an assault. After detaining a person in connection with the assault, that person admitted being in possession of a user amount of marijuana. Lundy then indicated he would hold off filing the possession of marijuana charge in exchange for $400. In subsequent phone conversations, the amount was raised to $500.
