ESPN to Use Sundance Square as 2014 Final Four Backdrop

Sundance Square will once again be the backdrop for ESPN's coverage of a major sporting event.

When the NCAA Men's Final Four comes to North Texas in April 2014, ESPN will build a set in the currently under construction Sundance Square Plaza and use that set during the studio coverage for the basketball tournament.

ESPN and Sundance Square had a similar partnership for Super Bowl XLV, where the entertainment district served as a home for the sport network's coverage.

“ESPN was a great partner during Super Bowl XLV and we are beyond excited to have them back in Sundance Square in 2014,” said Johnny Campbell, president and CEO of Sundance Square said in a press release. “ESPN brings great visibility to Fort Worth and allows us to showcase our heritage, as well as our current offerings in Sundance Square including the new plaza which will open in November 2013.”

“Sundance Square has proven itself to be a welcoming location for our set and our crew,” said Lee Fitting, ESPN senior coordinating producer. “The fan turnout and engagement will make for an energetic and enthusiastic few days especially with the new plaza as our backdrop.”

The NCAA men's basketball tournament runs March 18 - April 7 with AT&T Stadium hosting the Final Four teams on April 5 and April 7.
