Two Dead in Head-On Crash Involving Church Van

A head-on collision involving a church van claimed the life of two people and injured several other people Friday in North Texas.

The crash was reported at about 5:25 p.m. along State Highway 337 north of U.S. Highway 180 near Mineral Wells, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Investigators said a Chevrolet van occupied by seven members of the Faith Center Assembly of God, of Graham, Texas, was traveling south on SH 337 when it collided head-on with a Mitsubishi passenger car that was traveling north.

The driver of the Mitsubishi, identified as Jessica Lee Harris, 34, of Graham, was pronounced deceased at the scene, authorities said.

All occupants of the van were hospitalized and range in age from 11 to 49 years of age.

One person, flown by medical ambulance to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, died Saturday morning. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office identified the passenger who died as 40-year-old Stacey Daily..

Another person was flown to Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth, while two others were transported by ambulances on the ground to Palo Pinto General Hospital in Mineral Wells.

One of the injured passengers has since been discharged from the hospital.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
