Driver Killed in Crash with Rock Hauler in Denton County

A driver has died after being struck by a tractor trailer that was hauling rocks Monday evening in Denton County.

The Texas Highway Patrol is investigating after the semi, which was traveling eastbound on State Highway 114 near South County Line Road, crossed into the westbound lanes and struck three other vehicles, including another tractor trailer.

The driver of a westbound Hyundai Elantra was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

The driver of the rock hauler was airlifted to JPS Hospital in Fort Worth in unknown condition.

And the drivers of the other two vehicles were treated at the scene and released.

SH 114 remained closed late Monday as crews worked to clean up the spilled load of rocks.

The identities of the drivers involved in the crash have not been released.
