Driver Crashes Into Arlington Restaurant During Lunch

A driver lost control and crashed into a South Arlington restaurant Wednesday afternoon during the lunch hour.

NBC 5 was alerted to the crash by a viewer who tweeted a photograph of a sedan parked inside the Jersey Mike's restaurant at Southwest Green Oaks Boulevard and Pleasant Ridge Road.

The car destroyed the restaurant's entrance and could be seen parked at an angle in the dining room.

The Arlington Fire Department said the car crashed into the building when the driver accidentally hit the gas instead of the brake.

One diner inside the restaurant was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. The driver, whose name and age have not been released, was not hurt in the crash.
