Deputies Find 8 Dead Cows, 6 Others Starving in Navarro County

The cattle were found suffering from starvation and dehydration, officials said.

Navarro County officials are investigating an animal cruelty case involving eight dead cows and six others that were starving, officials said. The remaining cows were rescued after deputies found them severely neglected Tuesday.

Navarro County Sheriff's deputies served a warrant about 5 miles outside of Corsicana where they said there was no evidence of water.

The cattle were found suffering from starvation and dehydration, and were immediately transported to a local veterinary clinic for emergency treatment, officials said.

Potential felony charges are pending.
