Denton Police Identify Suspect in Drive-By Shooting on Tuesday

Denton Police said a 21-year-old man shot another man multiple times in the buttocks

Denton police have identified a person who they believe shot a man from his car while driving by an elementary school parking lot.

Police said Trestin Clyde Durante, 21, is in custody for allegedly shooting 20-year-old Keeton Flemings Tuesday night at the 3300 block of Evers Parkway.

Police said at around 5:57 p.m. Tuesday they received a call that a white vehicle drove by a school parking lot and shot a man in the parking lot of Evers Park Elementary school in Denton.

Durante allegedly shot Flemings multiple times “hitting him in the buttocks.” Witnesses said they heard around three gunshots and saw the suspect’s vehicle driving away.

Flemings was transported to the Presbyterian Emergency room and is in good condition, according to police.

Durante was arrested Wednesday at 2:20 p.m. and has been charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

Denton police added that the investigation is still ongoing.
