The Denton County Dash 5K fun run is happening Saturday April 11 at 9 a.m. at Toyota of Lewisville Railroad Park.
The Denton County Health Department (DCHD) and the City of Lewisville Parks and Leisure Services are hosting the event to educate the public about heart disease and promote healthier lifestyles.
The DCHD reports that heart disease is the number one killer of Denton County residents. Approximately 64 percent of residents are overweight, 30 percent are obese and 21 percent of residents report that they have no daily physical activity. The DCHD says these conditions put people at risk for heart disease that can be prevented or controlled with regular physical activity and balanced eating.
Toyota of Lewisville Railroad Park is located at 1301 S. Railroad Street.
