Fort Worth's famed Colonial Country Club will have a new sponsor for the 2016 PGA golf tournament: Get ready for the Dean & Deluca Invitational.
Both the PGA Tour and the specialty food retailer announced the new partnership Monday. The website for the Colonial now features a special page welcoming the new sponsor.
"We are very pleased to introduce Dean & Deluca as the new title sponsor of one of the most historic and prestigious tournaments on tour," PGA Tour Commissioner Tim Finchem said in a news release.
The tournament has been held at Colonial Country Club for the past 70 years, making it the tour's longest-tenured tournament at a single venue.
"For us to celebrate our 70th and, looking ahead, 75th anniversary with Dean & Deluca means a lot to Colonial Country Club and the Fort Worth community," Tournament Chairman Bobby Patton said.
The annual tournament is scheduled for the week of May 23-29, immediately following Irving's annual AT&T Byron Nelson Tournament at TPC Four Seasons Resort (May 19-22).
Dean & Deluca, who currently has cafe and markets in New York, Kansas, North Carolina, California and Washington D.C., plans to expand into the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
