In tough economic times, frugal shoppers are looking for deals and smart business owners are giving them.  Here are a few deals we've found for the week of Nov. 23-27.

This week begins a week of indulgence.  Don't let that turn into extra pounds on the body.  24 Hour Fitness is offering all non-members a free week at their clubs, beginning Nov. 22 and ending Nov. 30.  Those wanting a free week must be age 18 or over, or age 12 and over when accompanied by a parent.  Find out more at

Wednesday at noon, you can watch the Dallas Black Dance Theater as they prepare for their upcoming holiday events.  Seating at the Studios on Flora Street are limited so call 214-871-2390 for a reservation.

Elite Spa and Nails on Bagpiper Way in Arlington is offering a free pedicure or manicure this Friday or Sunday to celebrate the opening of their new store.

Head out to the Fort Worth Parade of Lights in Sundance Square on Friday night.  Stay after for the tree lighting and a special appearance by the big guy himself, Santa Claus.  The Parade of Lights is free, though reserved spots are available for purchase.  The parade begins at 6 p.m.  Yule want to get there early as traffic can tend to be a nightmare.  Stay after the parade and head over to 3rd and Main for the tree lighting at 7:30 p.m..  Bring chairs and watch the Will Ferrell comedy Elf in the Chisholm Trail parking lot beginning at 7:45 p.m.  Learn more here.


Saturdays and Sundays at 11:45 a.m. and 4:15 p.m., The Legends of Texas Gunfight Shows take place at Stockyards Station in Fort Worth. The shows are free and attendees can learn about about the history of this part of North Texas between 1835 and the early 1900s.
