In tough economic times, frugal shoppers are looking for deals and smart business owners are giving them. Here are a few deals we've found for this week.
FRIDAY ONLY DEALS
The Sharon Young Summer Warehouse Sale gets under way Friday in Dallas. Head over to 10367 Brockwood Road to see 16,000 pieces of womens clothing. All sizes are available. The sale takes place between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Friday and between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Saturday.
Mi Chula's Mexican Food restaurant in Plano is donating 100 percent of Friday night's sales to Children's Medical Center at Legacy in Plano. For $20, diners can enjoy an appetizer, dinner, dessert and a drink. Those wishing to take part must make a reservation by calling 972-801-8886.
On Friday, ladies get to work out for free at Lady of America Fitness Center on Hedgecoxe Road in Plano. Childcare that day is only $5 for non-members.
DEALS COMING UP
On Saturday, the ultimate pizza party is being planned at all area CiCi's Pizza locations from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. The pizza buffet is giving away coupon books for local retailers valued at $100. If the pizza and savings aren't enough to entice you, head over to the location on 5904 S. Cooper Street in Arlington about 1 p.m. to meet NBC's Nashville Star singers Melissa Lawson and Coffey Anderson. Both singers will be signing autographs at the party.

In Dallas, the Old Red Museum is offering discounts for Saturday's Family Day. Visitors can get into the museum for $5, which is $2 cheaper than normal. The day will be full of activities and tours for the family. This weekend theme, Downtown Detectives, Uncovering the Hidden Treasures in Architecture, runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., though the museum is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free for Old Red Museum members.
Want to go for a bike ride on the Katy Trail? Rent a free bike from Fleetwood's Kit Kat Cruiser bicycle boutique at 2 p.m. on Sunday. Bikes are available on a first come, first served basis.
On Sunday, the Amon Carter Museum in Fort Worth is celebrating Family Fun Day. From 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. guests can make free art and tour the Harmon and Harriet Kelley collection of African-American art.

Performances can include Othello, which will be the first opera to be performed in the new Marot and Bill Winspear House at the Dallas Center for the Performing Arts.
