Deadly Oklahoma Bank Robbery Linked to Irving Attack: Police

A car taken in a violent Irving convenience store robbery was later used in an Oklahoma bank heist in which a manager and the suspect were killed, police said Friday.

Investigators are looking into whether the same man was involved in both attacks.

On Tuesday, a gunman walked into a convenience store in the 1900 block of East Grauwyler Road in Irving, police said.

The bandit beat the clerk with a baseball bat and stole his car, police said.

The victim was hospitalized with head injuries but is now out of the hospital, said Irving police officer James McLellan.

On Thursday, a bank manager in Eufaula, Okla., was shot and killed during a robbery. The person suspected in the robbery was later shot and killed in a gun battle with police.

McLelland said police are trying to determine if the same man is responsible for both robberies.
