Fatal Crash Closes U.S. 67 in Cleburne: Police

A deadly crash in the eastbound lanes of U.S. 67 in Cleburne shut down the highway for several hours Tuesday afternoon, police said.

Police said the driver of a silver sedan — later identified as 21-year-old Tyran Johnson — tried to enter the highway at an intersection and was struck on the driver's side by a westbound tractor-trailer.

Both the tractor-trailer and sedan then crossed the roadway and came to a stop on a section of highway still under construction.

Johnson was killed at the scene, according to authorities. The driver of the tractor-trailer had no major injuries and no other injuries were reported.

The eastbound lanes of U.S. 67 were shut down until about 2:30 p.m. while the scene was cleared and the crash investigated.
