The Denton County Transportation Authority is considering fare changes, along with other new programs and initiatives, in a series of meetings this month.
DCTA President Jim Cline said the possible fare increases would bring the agency in line with other local transit authorities.
"We want to make sure our folks know what's being considered," Cline said. "Anything to do with fares requires and should have a lot of public input."
Cline added that any possible fare changes would not take place until next August.
Transit customer Tyler Callen grabs the DCTA "A" train at Old Town station in Lewisville three times a week. Despite hearing less-than-flattering stories about other public transit systems, he has no complaints.
"DCTA is clean. I've been real impressed," Callen said, as he waited for a train to take him to his job as a bartender.
The agency also recently launched its Transit Tracker, which lets people see the status of their next ride.

Aside from meetings in Highland Village last week and Lewisville on Monday, Denton residents will have their chance to speak out later this week. A meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at the Downtown Denton Transit Center.
