Police said a DART passenger reported seeing someone ride up on a bicycle and leave a metal box near the Pearl/Arts District station at about 9 p.m. DART officers arrived, halted the trains and notified Dallas police.

DART K-9 units searched the platforms, but police said they didn't find anything.

Trains did not run to the station while the bomb squad investigated, but officials said a bus shuttle was in place for downtown riders, according to authorities. Pearl Street was blocked from San Jacinto to Live Oak streets.

Police said they cleared the scene and rail service resumed at about midnight.
