The Dallas Wings are ready to take flight.
The newly relocated WNBA franchise is about a month out from starting practices for its inaugural season in Arlington.
"Being here in Arlington is gonna be great," said Wings Head Coach Fred Williams. "We're very anxious to show what we have. Our theme in the league this year is 'Watch Us Work'. And the players are very excited and show that they have skills."
Since announcing the move from Tulsa last fall, Williams says the franchise has been busy preparing for the WNBA draft, making roster moves and getting out into the community.
Now, they're counting down the days until May 21, which is when they play their first home game at UT-Arlington's College Park Center.
"We're gonna make sure that we play some good basketball – and good, entertaining basketball," said Williams. "That's what we are is entertainers. And we want to come out and entertain and play good basketball for our fans."
Wings season and individual game tickets are now on sale online.
