Dallas Stars Sign Center Travis Morin to a Two-Year Contract Extension

Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill announced Friday that the team has signed center Travis Morin to a two year contract extension.

This season Morin, 31, has registered 10 shots and a plus-1 rating in five games. He has recorded a team-leading 31 points in 30 games for the Texas Stars.

He led the American Hockey League (AHL) in scoring with 88 points in 66 games and was awarded the AHL's Lee Cunningham Award as the League's top player.

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound native of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota has recorded one assist in 12 careers. He has posted 327 points during his 380 AHL games with Texas and Hershey. He is also the franchise leader for Texas in goals (113), assists (213) and points (326).

Morin was first selected by Washington in the ninth round (263rd overall) of the 2004 NHL Draft, and was signed by Dallas as a free agent on July 2, 2010.
