The Dallas Police Department says a man shooting a gun into an apartment sparked a standoff Sunday afternoon.
Dallas Police first heard gun shots in the 5400 block of Peterson Lane around 4:15 p.m.
Peterson Lane is just east of the Galleria Mall, just off of 635 and the Dallas North Tollway.[[436192283, R]]
Witnesses at the complex told police that a man had fired a gun into an occupied apartment, then fled into a different apartment.
Officers on scene called for backup from the Dallas Police SWAT team. While officers were positioned outside of the apartment waiting for a search warrant, they say the man came out of the apartment and started shooting at officers.
Members of the SWAT team quickly moved in and arrested the suspect. No one was hurt, and no officers ever fired their weapon.
The man is now facing four counts of aggravated assault. So far his name has not been released.
