Man Arrested After Shooting at Dallas Officers: Police

Dallas police said late Friday night that a man is in custody after opening fire on officers.

The initial call for help was received at 7:09 p.m. for an armed disturbance.

Officers were called to the intersection of Fair Oaks Avenue and Phoenix Drive, not far from Sam Tasby Middle School.

Investigators said when officers arrived, they encountered a man who matched the description given by the caller.

The man ran from officers, and during the foot chase, officers said he fired at the officers. Officers then returned fire. No one was injured.

The man was later arrested and officers recovered the gun.
