Dallas police are investigating a string of unrelated shootings that took place overnight Thursday.
Ledbetter Drive Shooting
Thursday evening, Dallas police received a call about a shooting in the 2800 block of East Ledbetter Drive. At about 7:30 p.m., the victim was approached by five males between the ages of 17-18 who began arguing with him. One of the men then pulled out a gun and shot the man.The victim was transported to Baylor Hospital in an unknown condition. The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
Malcom X Boulevard Shooting
Dallas police were called Thursday evening after two men fired a gun at a store clerk at a store on the 3200 block of Malcolm X Boulevard. The clerk, who was behind bulletproof glass, was uninjured but police said a bystander was struck by a ricochet. The victim was transported to Baylor Medical Center in Dallas with injuries that are not life threatening. An accurate description of the gunman, who ran from the store before police arrived, has not been provided. The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
Forest Lane Shooting
Dallas police responded to a call Thursday about a shooting on the 9700 block of Forest Lane involving security officers. Police said a driver tried to hit a security officer with his car at about 9:30 p.m., but missed and hit the officer's vehicle. The officer, along with a second security officer, fired on the driver, injuring him. The driver was arrested and taken to Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas. He is expected to be charged with aggravated assault against a security officer. Dallas police are investigating and have not released any information about the driver.
