Teen Charged With Murder in Oak Cliff Homicide

Teen's body fround in friend's yard

Dallas police say two overnight shootings in Oak Cliff are related and a teen has now been charged with murder.

According to police, 911 received a call shortly before 3 a.m. with reports of gunshots on the 2800-block of Alaska Avenue.

There, police found 18-year-old Byron Fuller Jr., suffering from a gunshot wound.  He was transported to Methodist Central Hospital for treatment.

At 3:30 a.m., officers then responded to a call on the 2800-block of Alabama Avenue where they found the body of 19-year-old Valentin Valencia.

Police say Valencia appeared to have been shot.

Officers at the scene said Valentin did not live at the home where he was found.  Instead, according to Sgt. Benny Handley, that home belongs to a friend of the victim.  That friend reportedly told police he heard the shots, but did not see the shooting happen.

Investigators have now determined that Fuller was involved in the shooting on Alabama Avenue and he has been charged with murder with bail set at $100,000.
