Dallas Police Fatally Shoot Tasered Teen

Dallas police shot and killed a suspect outside an extended-stay hotel after the teen became combative and disarmed an officer.

Sr. Cpl. Kevin Janse says the incident began Monday night while two officers were on patrol and they noticed a man in the parking lot acting suspiciously.

Police say 19-year-old Miguel Mendoza did not cooperate and an officer used her Taser, but it failed to control him.

Police say Mendoza was fighting with the two officers when backup arrived.

Janse says Mendoza managed to take the Taser away from the officer and threatened her. Officers then shot the suspect, who was declared dead at a Dallas hospital.

Janse says drugs and drug paraphernalia were found on the teen.

The officers were not injured. The case remains under investigation.
