Dallas police said they took two people into custody after a 7-year-old child called 911 to report a home invasion attack Monday morning. [[358829651,C]]
Police said 20-year-old Luis Mascorro and 18-year-old Charles Tovar broke a window at the home in the 7300 block of Benning Avenue and went inside.
Once inside, police said Tovar grabbed a knife from the kitchen and went into the resident's bedroom, leading to a fight. During the struggle, the resident shot Tovar in the leg.
The child then called 911. Police said officers responded shortly after, at about 3:47 a.m.
Police said Tovar and Mascorro ran from the home and were taken into custody. Tovar was transported to a hospital..
The resident and Tovar knew each other, according to police.
