Dallas Officer Recovering After Severe Dehydration

A Dallas police officer who suffered brain hemorrhaging after becoming severely dehydrated is now in stable condition and talking, the department said.

Northeast Officer Alex Garcia, 22, was attending a Police Explorers competition in Colorado last week when he became ill.  He was transferred to Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, CO where he underwent a successful procedure to remove a blood clot from his brain.

Garcia joined the Dallas Police Department last year.
