Dallas Independent School District Tests Water for Lead

The Dallas Independent School District will test the water at all of its campuses Saturday for lead.

The move comes on the heels of the Fort Worth Independent School District pulling 500 drinking fountains from its campuses after testing showed unacceptable levels of lead in water fountains at 28 of its 116 campuses.

Tests at South Oak Cliff High School last month show water from a utility sink had high levels of lead. The sink was pulled from service soon after.

The district said the testing is out of an abundance of caution.
