Dallas Handshake Robbery Captured on Video

A holdup in broad daylight at a mobile phone repair shop near a college campus has Dallas police on the lookout.

The robbery began with questions, escalated to threats and ended in a handshake. All of it was caught on video.

It happened April 1 at the iRepair shop at 9410 Walnut Street, near Richland College.

Two young thieves first walked in asking questions about phones, and owner Omman Saleem thought nothing of it.

“We see students coming in and out all day asking same questions, selling phones asking how much phones go for,” explained Saleem.

Then, one of the thieves whipped out a gun.

“They kept threatening us that if we don't give them all that we had that they're going to start shooting any second,” Saleem said. “We were just scared they were going to pull the trigger.”

After waving a gun in their faces, with a handful of phones and tablets, the cameras capture a handshake between the thieves and the owner.

“He's like, 'You have to shake my hand and pretend like you're giving me these phones, as like a phone deal so it won't look anything weird,'” explained Saleem.

After opening the shop’s back door, the thief noticed there was a worker outside the store. In order to hide the robbery, he wanted the owner to pretend they had just struck a deal.

“He's like, 'If you say a word we're going to shoot your were gonna kill you,'” Saleem said.
