The police cars came without warning.
Some were lined with bullet holes. Others rolled in on their hubs with sparks flying. Each carried at least one officers some with multiple critical injuries.
For the emergency medicine team at Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas, the scene Thursday night was difficult to absorb, even for those used to working on combat frontlines.
