Dallas Animal Services Promotes Responsible Pet Ownership and Animal Adoption

With a full center and a large number of homeless animals, the Dallas Animal Services and Adoption Center seeks new homes for pets and offers free spay/neuter services.

The Dallas Animal Services and Adoption Center, located at 1818 N. Westmoreland Road, serves to encourage humane care of animals in Dallas and teaching pet owners proper ownership of their animal companions.

The adoption center is currently full. Any pet that has been at the center for more than 14 days is free. Standard screening will apply and all pets are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.

Dallas Animal Services partnered with Best Friends Animal Society through “9 Lives for $9.” The program serves to reduce adoption fees to $9 for cats 9 months and older.  Every adoption makes room for another homeless pet.

The center is also offering free spay/neuter services June 24 at Pleasant Grove Library, located at 7310 Lake June Road, between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. for pets belonging to residents in 75211, 75212, 75216, 75217, 75224, 75227, 75228 and 75241 ZIP codes.  To set up an appointment call 214-324-4349.
