Here's a daily list of random crimes across North Texas compiled on Nov. 6, 2008.

CLERK ASSAULTED WHILE TRYING TO STOP BEER THEFT (Surveillance photos below)
On Monday, Oct. 27, at 10:45 p.m., Arlington police said a Hispanic man assaulted a store convenience store clerk on the 1900 block of East Park Row Drive after being accused of shoplifting.  Police said the clerk followed the man into the parking lot after he walked out of the store without paying for beer. When the clerk confronted the man, the man assaulted the clerk -- breaking his nose and jaw. The man then fled the scene in a late 90s or early 2000-model blue Toyota two-door sedan. Anyone with information on this offense is asked to call Arlington Police Detective Kyle Dishko at 817-459-5327 or Crime Stoppers at 817-469-TIPS. PRELIMINARY LINK CONNECTS RIFLE, SLUG IN TMS SHOOTING
Investigators now have a preliminary link between the .50-caliber slug that hit an Arlington woman at TMS and the rifle of a Benbrook man who says he was target shooting on Sunday morning when Jill King was wounded. (KRLD)

TCU AREA ROBBERIES WORRY NEIGHBORS
Neighborhood groups around TCU are warning about a series of robberies that may be related because the descriptions of the robber are pretty similar. (KRLD)

TRAFFIC SNARLED AS CREWS RECOVER TRUCK FROM LAKE LEWISVILLE
Traffic was snarled this morning on Interstate 35E in southeast Denton County as emergency crews responded to a pickup truck submerged in Lake Lewisville, but it was no rescue operation. (Star-Telegram)

TEEN REACHES PLEA DEAL IN HURST SLAYING
One of seven teens accused of fatally shooting a Hurst man in a robbery that went bad near Hurst Junior High in February has been sentenced to 10 years probation for his role in the slaying, a prosecutor said Thursday. (Star-Telegram)

MAN FOUND GUILTY OF MURDERING NORTH RICHLAND HILLS WOMAN
Attorneys for defendant Randy Lee Wilson argued Wednesday that physical evidence did not support testimony from untrustworthy prosecution witnesses that Wilson fatally stabbed a 20-year-old North Richland Hills woman last year and dumped her in Lake Arlington, where her decomposed body was found six days later. ARLINGTON SCHEDULES WARRANT ROUNDUP FOR NOV. 10 – 14
Arlington police will be casting a wide loop during the week beginning Monday, Nov. 10, looking to snare people with outstanding warrants. (Pegasus News)
