WOMAN SHOT FOR NOT GIVING UP PURSE
A woman was walking to her car in Deep Ellum when an unidentified man drove up and demanded that she give him her purse. The woman didn't comply, and that's when the suspect shot her, jumped back into his truck and sped away. More details. (NBCDFW)

1,000 LOSE POWER AFTER CAR ACCIDENT
It was an extra chilly night for some Dallas residents who lost power after a car hit a power pole at the intersection of Schroeder Road and Willowdell Drive around midnight, Saturday. Power lines were downed due to the accident keeping about 1,000 Oncor customers in the dark. No one was injured in the crash and Oncor says they had restored all power by 4:40 am, Saturday morning. KILLER OF NORTH RICHLAND HILLS VICTIM SENTENCED TO LIFE
Randy Wilson was sentenced to life in prison Friday for the killing of 20-year-old North Richland Hills Resident Brittany Rapoza in August 2007. Wilson must serve at least 30 years before being eligble for parole. The victim, Rapoza, was found decomposed in Lakr Arlington six days after being killed. (Star Telegram)

ONE DEAD AFTER HITTING UTILITY POLE
Around the 9000 block of Elam Rd., an SUV went out of control, hit a utility pole, knocked down power lines and went off the road. The overturned vehicle landed in a grove of trees trapping the driver inside. Rescue crews attempted to free the man, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. More details. (NBCDFW)
