Here's a daily list of crimes across North Texas compiled on May 27, 2009.

DALLAS POLICE INVESTIGATE DOUBLE SHOOTING 
An investigation is under way after Dallas police found two dead bodies inside a vehicle parked on the shoulder of the Overton entrance ramp of Interstate 45.  Police received a call regarding the abandoned car around 12:45 a.m. When officers arrived they found the car's doors and trunk wide open. One man was found in the backseat and the other inside the trunk. Both men had their hands bound. Detectives are still trying to figure out who the car belongs and if the men were shot there or at another location.

MAN ACCUSED OF FATALLY SHOOTING EX SURRENDERS
A man accused of chasing his ex-girlfriend into a convenience store and shooting her multiple times has surrendered to police, the Dallas Morning News reported. Jackie Lee Bibbs, 40, gunned down Candalin Daniels on May 15 as she walked with her relatives to a nearby convenience store, Fort Worth police said. Before the shooting Daniels was at home with friends and family when the ex-boyfriend showed up and struck her son in the head with a handgun, police said.
 
TRIAL BEGINS FOR MAN ACCUSED OF BEHEADING WOMAN
One of two men accused of dismembering a 20-year-old Dallas woman went on trial Wednesday, the Dallas Morning News reported. Eric Ziegler strangled Ibonne Zamudio before pulling out a knife and gutting the woman inside a Richardson home on June 13, 2008, prosecutors said. Then he and Timothy Jones scalped Zamudio and chopped her body into pieces before stuffing her remains into trash bags, prosecutors said. The trio had been smoking crack cocaine together, along with the homeowner, before the attack, police said.
