Crews Extinguish Uptown Apartment Fire, Limit Damage

Residents returned to their homes Tuesday night after a fire at an Uptown apartment complex, officials say.

The fire happened in the 3100 block of Maple Avenue in a 14th-floor unit at the Villas at Katy Trail, according to Dallas Fire-Rescue.

Officials said crews extinguished the fire quickly and limited the damage to the unit where the fire started, although the apartment directly below was uninhabitable Tuesday due to water damage.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No injuries were reported.
