The American Red Cross is assisting 20 people left out in the cold in Dallas Tuesday after a large 3-alarm fire consumed their homes late Monday night.
The fire was reported at the Wintree Condominiums on the 8100 block of Skillman Street at about 9:30 p.m. Monday.
As Dallas Fire-Rescue arrived at the building, firefighters reported seeing flames coming from the two-story building.

Firefighters tried to initially fight the fire from inside the building, but the fire quickly spread to the attic and through the roof. Firefighters took up a defensive posture and fought the fire from the outside as more alarms were called for backup.
By the time the fire had been put out, DFR said at least 70 firefighters were called to help get the fire under control.
DFR said 14 residences were impacted by the fire and 20 people have been displaced. There were no injuries reported and the cause of the fire is not yet known.
On Tuesday, several residents were seen sifting through the charred remains of the building, looking for any property not destroyed by the flames.
