A 55-year-old man was killed in a wrong-way crash Wednesday morning in Dallas, the Dallas County Sheriff's Office said. A 24-year-old man was hospitalized.

The crash happened at about 2:20 a.m. on northbound Interstate 345, the small stretch of highway separating downtown Dallas from Deep Ellum.

The 24-year-old, identified as Cesar Torres, was headed in the wrong direction in a black Acura after entering the roadway on a ramp, the sheriff's department said.

Deputies said Torres then tried to get into another lane, which is when he crashed into Mac Arthur Brantley in a Ford Mustang.

Brantley was pronounced dead. Torres was hospitalized and had surgery, officials said.

Torres will be charged with involuntary manslaughter, a third degree felony.
