Cowboys QB Tony Romo to Have Plate Inserted in Collarbone

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo will have a plate inserted in his left collarbone when he undergoes surgery next week.

It's a procedure that Cowboys fans hope will get him back on the field and keep him upright next season.

The plate will help make Romo's collarbone stronger and help prevent it from breaking again.

Romo broke his clavicle twice last season, causing him to miss 12 games during 2015.

Recovery time for the procedure is around six to eight weeks.

The 35-year-old starter is expected to be ready for organized team activities, which start in May.
